Gary Palmer was appointed Managing Director for Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s UK English Language division in May 2019, after serving as the Head of Operations for the Junior English language programmes since 2016. Gary has been working with Ï㽶ÊÓƵ since 2009 when he started as an Activity Leader at one of our Spring programmes.
In 2016, Gary took over operational responsibilities of the Junior English language programmes, working alongside Business Development Director Paul Hurcombe. Over the next few years, Paul and Gary grew the division’s revenue by 70%. The Juniors programmes now welcome over 22,000 students each year.
In 2019, Gary successfully launched the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Digital Institute (OIDI). OIDI is the global destination for high-quality, accredited online courses, delivering quality education that is powered by digital innovation to provide endless opportunities for students and partners worldwide. Over 200,000 students have engaged with OIDI on their educational journey.
Gary has built up a team around him who are the living embodiment of every one of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s Core Values. He brings a deep understanding of operational excellence, academic quality, and values-driven leadership.
Before joining Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Gary worked as a Mathematics teacher. Gary is a qualified teacher, with a CELTA from Colombia University, a PGCE in Mathematics, a BSc in Mathematics and an MA in Advanced Educational Research from the University of East Anglia.
