At 香蕉视频, we believe that education has the power to change lives. Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about more than just academic excellence; it鈥檚 about making a meaningful impact on people and communities around the world.

With over 30 years in education, we鈥檝e seen first-hand how we can influence lives positively. Our core values鈥攑assion & pride, creativity, care, integrity, and a smile鈥攇uide us in giving back and making a difference wherever we can.

What CSR Means to Us

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about doing business in a way that benefits society and the environment. It鈥檚 our commitment to creating positive social and environmental change.

Aligning Values with Impact

We align our values with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to create a better world by addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. This alignment ensures that everything we do helps make a lasting difference in the communities we serve.

Our Recent CSR Initiatives

Compassions and Dedication

In 2023, we launched our first CSR initiative, the Community Food Drive, in Bhadra Nagar, Desale Pada, Dombivli, in India. Our team worked alongside the Mumbai-based Not-For-Profit, Sheth Shree Motisha Sadharmik Bhakti Kendra, to distribute food kits to those in need.

Reflecting on the success of this , Mr. Mohit Gambir, Managing Director of 香蕉视频 Education Services, shared, 鈥淲itnessing the joy and relief on the faces of the families we helped is an experience I cherish deeply. It reaffirms our belief in the importance of giving back to the communities that we are part of. We are excited to continue this journey and plan to organise similar activities on a larger scale across different regions in the future.鈥

In 2024, we continued our partnership with Sheth Shree Motisha Sadharmik Bhakti Kendra, organising a book distribution drive to inspire a love for learning. We also addressed the need for clean water in underserved areas, driven by our desire to serve with compassion and make a tangible difference in people鈥檚 lives.

Inspiring Environmental Awareness Through Education

This monsoon, we launched an educational CSR initiative to teach children about environmental stewardship. Through hands-on planting activities, we connected lessons on nature and responsibility with practical experiences. We gifted umbrellas and bags as symbols of protection and growth, encouraging children to think critically about their role in caring for the planet. This project reinforced our core values鈥擲mile, Passion & Pride, Integrity, Creativity, and Care鈥攁nd integrated environmental education with our mission to inspire the next generation to cherish and protect our natural resources.

Angel Xpress Foundation Collaboration

In 2024, we had the privilege of celebrating Holi with the underprivileged students of , a Mumbai-based Not-For-Profit  organisation. Through engaging in storytelling, singing, and creative activities, we aimed to share the joy and the gift of knowledge with those who may encounter obstacles in accessing education. Our heartfelt mission was to embrace the festival’s vibrant spirit while nurturing a passion for learning among these amazing individuals. We stand firm in our commitment to supporting those in need, always serving with warmth and compassion.

Accessible Learning

At 香蕉视频, we鈥檙e dedicated to making education accessible to everyone, especially those who need it most. Our online English courses are designed to empower displaced individuals with the language skills they need to integrate into communities and access better employment opportunities.

Gary Palmer, Managing Director, shares, 鈥淪eeing the progress and confidence our students gain is incredibly rewarding. It鈥檚 not just about learning a language; it鈥檚 about building futures.鈥

Since early 2022, our courses have reached over 2,150 students, providing practical skills for real-world success. With support from our partners鈥攖he University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and University of Leeds鈥攚e are able to extend our reach and provide students in challenging environments with valuable language services.

Our learners often talk about the positive impact these courses have had on their lives:

Tatiana Tulska: 鈥淗aving classes three times a week gives me the chance to really practice and improve my English. It鈥檚 not just about learning; it鈥檚 about connecting and growing.鈥

Alina Minina: 鈥淭hese courses have made me more confident. Sophia鈥檚 teaching style is fantastic鈥攕he makes complex topics easy and fun. The focus on pronunciation and practical topics really helped me.鈥

Our online courses are fully accessible on smartphones, tablets, and laptops, allowing students to learn from anywhere. With our Virtual Learning Campus, students can join monthly cohorts that provide personalised learning experiences for various proficiency levels. Each course concludes with a ‘Certificate of Completion’ and ongoing support through follow-up initiatives.

Finding Home in Education

This year, we are proud to support the ‘‘ project, in collaboration with the University of East Anglia Sanctuary Initiative and King’s College London Sanctuary Programme.  This initiative, aligned with our mission of ‘Learning Without Limits,’ explores the theme of ‘Our Home’ from Refugee Week 2024, focusing on higher education as a sanctuary for displaced individuals. Through participatory art workshops led by artists Majid Adin and Dana Olarescu, students and academics from nine UK universities created impactful posters that are now exhibited across various institutions.

At 香蕉视频, our CSR initiatives are a testament to our unwavering commitment to positively impacting society. By empowering individuals through education, fostering community engagement, and supporting sustainable development, we can contribute to a brighter and more equitable future. As we continue to grow and expand our efforts, we remain dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Together, we can achieve lasting change and build a better world for future generations.

香蕉视频 Achieves ESG Excellence

We’re proud to share that we have improved our overall score in the 2023 annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) review. Our rating has risen from 4 to 4.3 out of 5. This improvement underscores our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and strong governance practices and to creating a positive impact on society and the planet.

Continuous customer experience improvement

One of the reasons for our ESG score improvement is our consistent effort to gain customer feedback and act on it. We now measure Net Promoter Score (NPS) as well as other metrics of advocacy and satisfaction, across many programmes, divisions and stakeholders and we have a continuous improvement plan approach, prioritising and implementing change.

As we progress, we remain dedicated to addressing evolving student, agent and partner needs, improving communication channels, and providing comprehensive support to ensure a seamless transition for students studying abroad.

Social Well-being and Inclusivity

We are committed to prioritising employee well-being and inclusivity. We ensure a supportive work environment by fostering open dialogue, encouraging feedback, and promptly addressing concerns.聽

Our commitment extends to promoting a flexible working culture and providing frameworks for exploring remote work options. Additionally, we emphasise self-care through initiatives like certified Mental Health First Aiders and social events like yoga sessions.

Initiatives such as our employee recognition scheme aim to recognise and celebrate excellence and tangible manifestation of our core values, while initiatives like the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Special Interest Group and informal FIKA Meetups reinforce our dedication to creating an inclusive workplace.

Employee Engagement and Involvement

We are committed to open and transparent communication and engage with our people through surveys, and working groups to co-create and develop new initiatives that ensure that we are a great place to work.  The recently launched innovative hub provides a mechanism for new ideas to be proposed and led by team members, as well as special interest groups on both AI and Sustainability.

Social Responsibility

We are dedicated to positively impacting society through our social responsibility initiatives, including our free English Lessons for Refugees programme, which aims to empower vulnerable individuals as they start anew in a foreign country.

Since its launch in April 2022, the programme has had a significant influx of interest providing English language instruction to a student body of over 1,800 (to February 2024). The programme’s primary objective is to facilitate social interaction, promote a sense of belonging, and foster understanding by breaking down language barriers that impede communication and integration, enabling students through tailored language instruction.

As part of our ongoing commitment to global education, we continue to support the , chaired by Chris Skidmore former MP and Education Minister, in developing the new ‘International Education Strategy 2.0’.

Environmental Responsibility

We actively participate in initiatives such as the Cycle to Work scheme to reduce our carbon footprint and promote resource efficiency. By encouraging active transportation and reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based vehicles, we contribute to a greener and healthier environment.

Bangor University International College

Through initiatives in 香蕉视频 Colleges in Bangor and Dundee, we foster a culture of environmental responsibility within our academic institutions, promoting sustainability through teaching and action. In Dundee, students engaged in a lecture and workshop on global responses to the climate crisis, while in Bangor, students explored sustainable urban living through peer feedback sessions.

International College Dundee

These initiatives reflect our commitment to promoting sustainability through teaching and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within our educational institutions.

While we’re proud of our environmental and social sustainability progress, we recognise that there’s still room for improvement. By proactively collaborating with experts and stakeholders, we can enhance our ESG initiatives and make a lasting impact.

As we aim to do more, we encourage our employees, partners, and stakeholders to join us on this journey to a more sustainable future. Collaboratively, we can positively impact and create a better future for all.

We’re committed to addressing areas for improvement identified in the report, including expanding GHG emissions calculation, broadening the scope of our energy management system, advancing supply chain responsibility, and enhancing our occupational health and safety management system. By focusing on these areas, we aim to strengthen our environmental and social impact further and contribute to a more sustainable world.

香蕉视频 (OIEG) is proud to announce its improved overall score in the annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) review. With a rating of 4 out of 5, this achievement showcases our unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and robust governance practices.

Social

One of our key priorities is prioritising employee well-being and inclusivity. We actively engage in initiatives that foster open dialogue, encourage employee feedback, and promptly address concerns. Notable achievements in HR management include comprehensive staff training, investment in employee development, and implementation of a Human Rights policy.

Promoting a flexible working culture is central to our values, and we strive to create an environment where all our staff can thrive. While operational requirements may on occasions limit remote work opportunities, we provide a framework for our team and managers to discuss and explore homeworking arrangements.

Our organisation’s mission is to offer “Learning Without Limits.” To support this mission, we emphasise the professional development of our staff through various avenues:

  • Performance Development Reviews: These reviews enable employees and their line managers to acknowledge contributions, identify strengths, set objectives, and work on areas for improvement.
  • LinkedIn Learning Platform: We provide all staff access to the LinkedIn Learning Platform, which offers thousands of courses to support both professional and personal development.
  • Tailored Learning and Development Opportunities: We offer customised learning and development opportunities to ensure our employees are well-equipped to excel in their roles and advance their careers.
  • Support for Professional Qualifications: We encourage employees to pursue professional qualifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and PGCertHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education)

We also recognise the significance of self-care, both mentally and physically. Our commitment to employee well-being is evident through initiatives promoting good health.   We have a number of certified Mental Health First Aiders in all of our main locations around the world.  Creating connections with others informally though social events, and offerings such as Yoga.

Supporting Communities in Times of Crisis

Our core values are not just words on a page; they guide our actions and define who we are as an organisation. One of our fundamental values is care, and we believe in demonstrating this value through tangible support for communities in times of crisis.

In 2022, we witnessed a devastating flood in Pakistan. As a country close to our hearts, with thousands of Pakistani students passing through our organisation over the years and several Pakistani colleagues on the ground, we felt a deep sense of concern and responsibility. In response, our entire team in Pakistan rallied together and volunteered in the affected areas, providing essential assistance such as food, clothing, and toiletries. Additionally, as an organisation, we donated towards the disaster relief efforts through Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and actively supported students who were impacted by this disaster.

Similarly, our hearts were heavy when we learned about the earthquake affecting Turkey and Syria. This tragic event has affected people worldwide, including our own team members, many of whom have personal connections to these regions. We stood in solidarity with our impacted staff and students and provided on-the-ground support to students in our colleges who were affected. Furthermore, we donated to the Oxfam rescue fund, contributing to the ongoing relief efforts.

Care is at the heart of our culture. We see our students and staff as family, and their well-being is our priority. We support them daily with academic guidance, mentorship, and an inclusive learning environment. We’re committed to making a positive impact, even more so during challenging times. Together, we build a stronger, more compassionate world.

Governance

We are committed to positively impacting society through our social responsibility and environmental sustainability initiatives. As part of these efforts, we seek to develop long-term relationships with employees, stakeholders, like-minded institutions, and the communities we operate in.

One notable initiative under this umbrella is our a programme is designed to provide support and opportunities for vulnerable individuals as they embark on a fresh start in a new country. Our goal is to provide refugees with the necessary skills for a successful integration into their host communities by offering free English lessons. As such, the programme goes beyond language learning. It serves as a stepping stone for refugees to build confidence, engage with their new communities, and ultimately create a better life for themselves and their families. We understand that language barriers can often be a significant hurdle, hindering effective communication and inhibiting social and economic integration.

Since the inception of the programme in April 2022, we have witnessed tremendous demand. New cohorts have been opening regularly each month, welcoming individuals eager to learn and grow and we are proud to have enrolled and provided English lessons to 1,450 students (from 2022 till April 2023), each with their unique stories and aspirations.

The impact of this programme extends beyond the classroom. As refugees gain proficiency in English, they can access better educational opportunities, secure employment, and actively contribute to their new communities. By breaking down language barriers, we facilitate social interaction, foster understanding, and promote a sense of belonging.

Additionally, we actively support the International Higher Education Commission in shaping the new ‘International Education Strategy 2.0’. Chaired by Rt Hon Chris Skidmore MP. collaborates with the of 18 policymakers, regulators, funders and other education industry stakeholders to provide recommendations for the future of international education.

Recognising the value of international students in the UK, the Commission seeks to develop strategic recommendations for a government education strategy which addresses both social and economic benefits and develops sustainable strategies at the international and local levels.

The Commission, including former Universities Ministers Lord Jo Johnson and Lord David Willetts, engages through roundtable discussions within and beyond the UK and includes also student stakeholders.

The recent report, explores the surge in international student numbers and the need for sustainable growth. The report suggests shifting recruitment from master’s students to undergraduates due to declining demand from China and EU countries post-Brexit.

We fully support the Commission’s mission to develop an inclusive and robust international education strategy.

As a leading education provider, OIEG remains committed to driving positive change and enhancing the international education landscape. We will continue collaborating and contributing to developing a globally connected, sustainable and future-focused education ecosystem.

Environment & Resource Efficiency

We actively seek opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint and promote resource efficiency. We support the Cycle to Work scheme鈥攁 UK government-backed programme that offers a cost-effective way for employees to access new cycling equipment.

Through the Cycle to Work scheme, participating employees can obtain cycling equipment without paying tax or national insurance on these products. This initiative encourages active transportation and reduces reliance on fossil fuel-based vehicles, contributing to a greener and healthier environment.

Recently, our India-based team members at 香蕉视频 Education Services (OIES) demonstrated their support for World Environment Day by partnering with the NGO Muskurate Raho. Together, they engaged in an environmental restoration drive, reviving plant samplings. Our team actively contributed to the conservation and rejuvenation of the natural environment.

While we celebrate the progress made in environmental and social responsibility across our company, we also acknowledge that there are areas where we can improve. We recognise the need for urgent and purposeful action to address environmental challenges. By adopting a proactive approach and collaborating with experts and stakeholders, we are confident that we can strengthen our environmental initiatives and have a lasting impact.

We remain committed to continuously adopting and improving sustainable practices. We are motivated by our improved Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) score and embrace stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement. Leveraging advancements in technology, fostering a culture of transparency, and advocating for responsible practices are just a few ways we put our commitment into action.

As we move forward, we are determined to be an example for our industry and prove that responsible practices are the key to building a more sustainable future.

We believe that even small steps can lead to significant change. As we strive to do more, we invite our employees, partners, and stakeholders to join us on this journey towards a greener and more sustainable world.

Together, we can make a positive impact and create a better future for all.
